Every wedding comes with a free buildtheday.com address, ready to share the moment you publish. When you want something more personal, point your own domain at your page instead, something like thesmiths2026.com or ourwedding.co.uk.
A short, memorable address looks right on a save-the-date, sits neatly on an invitation, and is easy to read aloud. Connecting your own domain is a one-off £18 add-on, and it is included from The Ceremony tier upward.
Guided setup, no guesswork
Add your domain in the dashboard and we work out what kind it is, an apex, www or subdomain, and show you exactly which DNS records to create. We even detect who manages your DNS and tailor the instructions, with a link to your provider's console and copy-and-paste values.
When you have added the records, press Verify. We check them automatically against public resolvers, and update the status for you. There is nothing to configure by hand.
Secure by default
Once your DNS verifies, we register the domain and provision an SSL certificate automatically. Your site is then served over HTTPS, so the address in a guest's browser stays secure and looks professional.
If a check needs a moment, that is usually just DNS propagation catching up. Press Verify again once your records have spread.
More than one address
You can add more than one domain to the same wedding, so both thesmiths.com and www.thesmiths.com lead guests to the same page. Each domain belongs to one wedding only, and your custom address always shows just your guest experience, never the admin side.
